About me
I’m a UX advocate, design thinker, and experience strategist. I bring a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to every project.
If UX design isn’t already part of your product development process, a conversation with me about my work will not only persuade you that it should be, but it will also give you insight how to make it happen.
I have refined an efficient, hands-on approach to solving your product, service and experience design challenges. I will show you how to turn research into innovative digital solutions that people want to use.
How do you work, Chris?
I create moments to talk about the project with my clients using research outcomes, problem definition, ideation and prototyping, user testing and development.
The background phase begins with a collection of information about the project that will guide the design and delivery. I gain insights who the users are, what are their needs and goals and what is unsatisfactory about their current experience. From a business perspective, what will define the projects success, what is the budget and schedule and who are the key decision makers and who will approve the deliverables.
Here, I analyze the observations gathered during the background phase and synthesize them to define the core problems that have been identified. These definitions are called problem statements. I will create personas, empathy maps and journey maps to help keep the design efforts human-centered before proceeding to ideation.
Now, I’m ready to generate ideas with the stakeholders. The solid background of knowledge from the first two phases means we can start to “think outside the box”, look for alternative ways to view the problem and identify innovative solutions to the problem statement I’ve created.
This is an experimental phase. The aim is to identify the best possible solution for each problem found. I will produce some inexpensive, scaled-down versions of the product (or specific features found within the product) to investigate the ideas we’ve generated. This could involve simply paper prototyping or working digital prototypes.
This phase refers to evaluating a product or service by testing it with representative users. Usability testing helps to uncover problems, discover opportunities and learn about the target user’s behavior and preferences. Usability testing can be remote or in person. A deliverable of this phase is a report with key findings and recommendations.
I share all of the design artifacts and final preview link of the finished design with my client. Once the client has signed off on the design, development can begin. Depending on time constraints the entire workflow can take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks. This mainly depends on the different revision rounds that we have to go through to get the desired result.
What do I use?
I use Figma, Axure RP and the Adobe Creative Cloud for my projects. Creative Cloud can be used for nearly any task in the areas of UX design, graphic design, photography, and web development. I can publish an interactive prototype to the cloud with Figma, Axure and XD, gather client feedback, and iterate on a design. My clients can interact throughout the design to development process.
Questions I often get
Frequently asked questions, or FAQs as they are known, are a great way to answer the questions that are most commonly asked about my work. To find out more about what I can do for you, contact me by email using the form on the Contact page.
UX, or user experience, encompasses all the things that occur to a user when she is interacting with a product, system or experience. User experience design is the practice of affecting the user experience through research, analysis and design of the touchpoints involved in a system.
User experience is a multidisciplinary field that involves a variety of skills:
I accept projects that start at $10,000. The final price depends on your needs and wants, the design and the functionality. Let me know what you are looking for via the Contact page.
Approximately 6-8 weeks. This mainly depends on the availability of the client’s team, schedules and different revision rounds that we have to go through to get the desired result.
During the UX design process I will produce a variety of “artifacts” and project deliverables as part of a UX design project.
