About me
I’m a UX advocate, design thinker, and product strategist. I bring a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to every project.
If UX design isn’t already part of your product development process, a conversation with me about my work will not only persuade you that it should be, but it will also give you insight how to make it happen.
I have refined an efficient, hands-on approach to solving your product, service and experience design challenges. I will show you how to turn research into innovative solutions that people want to use.
How do you work, Chris?
Throughout the project, I actively gather client feedback, allowing for continuous iterations and refinements. This collaborative approach ensures clients are fully involved and can contribute to the design process, resulting in a final product that accurately reflects their vision and needs.
The background phase begins with a collection of information about the project that will guide the design and delivery. I gain insights who the users are, what are their needs and goals and what is unsatisfactory about their current experience. From a business perspective, what will define the projects success, what is the budget and schedule and who are the key decision makers and who will approve the deliverables.
Here, I analyze the observations gathered during the background phase and synthesize them to define the core problems that have been identified. These definitions are called problem statements. I will create personas, empathy maps and journey maps to help keep the design efforts human-centered before proceeding to ideation.
Now, I’m ready to generate ideas with the stakeholders. The solid background of knowledge from the first two phases means we can start to “think outside the box”, look for alternative ways to view the problem and identify innovative solutions to the problem statement I’ve created.
This is an experimental phase. The aim is to identify the best possible solution for each problem found. I will produce some inexpensive, scaled-down versions of the product (or specific features found within the product) to investigate the ideas we’ve generated. This could involve simply paper prototyping or working digital prototypes.
This phase refers to evaluating a product or service by testing it with representative users. Usability testing helps to uncover problems, discover opportunities and learn about the target user’s behavior and preferences. Usability testing can be remote or in person. A deliverable of this phase is a report with key findings and recommendations.
I share all of the design artifacts and final preview link of the finished design with my client. Once the client has signed off on the project, I will deliver a final readout to all of the key stakeholders. Depending on time constraints and scope the entire workflow can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. This mainly depends on the different revision rounds that we have to go through to get the desired result.
What do I use?
I leverage Figma, Miro and the Adobe Creative Suite to facilitate comprehensive design processes, including ideating, wireframing, journey mapping, and prototyping. These tools enable me to create detailed and interactive designs that meet client expectations.
Questions I often get
Frequently asked questions, or FAQs as they are known, are a great way to answer the questions that are most commonly asked about my work. To find out more about what I can do for you, contact me by email using the form on the Contact page.
UX, or user experience, encompasses all the things that occur to a user when she is interacting with a product, system or experience. User experience design is the practice of affecting the user experience through research, analysis and design of the touchpoints involved in a system.
User experience is a multidisciplinary field that involves a variety of skills:
Our services are designed to be flexible and adaptable to meet your specific needs. On average our engagements typically range from 2 to 6 weeks. However, the duration of a project can vary based on several factors, including: availability of your team for meetings, reviews and approvals, and whether you need a comprehensive set of services or a more focused engagement.
During the engagement I will produce a variety of “artifacts” and project deliverables such as:
